In the village of Rahu in Saaremaa, a hobby detectorist Roland P\u00e4rn discovered under the floor of his house during renovations silver coins from the 11th and 12th centuries, which Marika M\u00e4gi (Osiliana\/Tallinn University) inspected. In total, there were about 70 coins, located at a depth of 30-40 cm and dating from the 11th-12th centuries.<\/p>

Roland P\u00e4rn said:<\/p>

“I have found them and it is important and I got to hold them in my hand. And I think the gain of giving them away is many times greater than if I had stuck them in my drawer and then admired them in the dark of night and then taken the knowledge to the grave<\/em>!”<\/p><\/div>
