It was not very prominent \u2013 the fort\u2019s rampart was essentially a large stone wall with a wooden fence on top. A river harbour may have existed there, as the L\u00f5ve River flowed through the vicinity, emptying into the sea a few kilometres inland from the present-day coastline.
